We wanted a tutor that draws.
Lumi started with a simple frustration: every study tool gives you answers, and almost none of them help you understand why the answer is the answer.
If you sit next to someone who is genuinely good at explaining things, you notice what they do. They ask what you already know. They pick an analogy that fits your world, not theirs. They reach for a pen and draw the thing. And when your face says it hasn’t landed, they don’t repeat themselves louder — they explain it a different way.
Almost none of that survives the trip into software. Search gives you a page. A chatbot gives you a wall of text. Neither notices when you’ve quietly stopped following. We built Lumi to keep the parts that matter: the back-and-forth, the drawing, and the willingness to start over in a different key.
